Randi Sjogren, MD
After completing her pediatric training, Dr. Randi Sjogren worked as a primary care pediatrician in the Philadelphia area. In 2006 she moved to New York to be closer to family and joined the White Plains Pediatric Group (now part of Westchester Health Pediatrics).
I try to get to know my patients on a very personal level — I follow their interests and sports and activities so they and their parents feel comfortable coming in to see me. I feel very strongly about educating parents and having them involved in their children’s medical decisions. I spend a lot of time explaining to them why and when antibiotics are necessary and when they’re really not, because I think it’s very helpful for them to understand the thought process behind my recommendations.
My children are 8 and 6 so I’m very involved with PTA and volunteer a lot in my children’s school. As a family, we do a lot of hiking and camping. I like to run; a couple of times a year I do races in our town, sometimes with my kids, sometimes on my own.
