After two years of practicing Pediatrics in the Air Force in California, Dr. Herbert Newman returned to the east coast in 1962. Following a year of solo practice, Dr. Newman joined in partnership with Dr. Leroy Engel in 1963. This was the beginning of Soundview Pediatric Associates (now part of Westchester Health Pediatrics).

Since 1969, Dr. Newman has been an Attending Pediatrician at Blythedale Children’s Hospital, a pediatric rehabilitation hospital in Valhalla. He is presently Infection Prevention and Control Officer and chairman of the Infection Prevention and Control Committee. Dr. Newman serves on Blythedale’s Quality of Care Committee and is past president of Blythedale’s Medical Executive Committee.
